Ucluelet Names Business, Volunteer, Citizen Of Year

By Westcoaster.ca Staff UCLUELET — Community members picked Ucluelet’s business, volunteer and citizen of the year during the final afternoon of Ukee Days activities Sunday.

Following voting at the Seaplane Base Rec Hall, Blackrock Oceanfront Resort was named Business of the Year.

Kathy deVries was named Volunteer of the Year, and Mike Mead-Miller was named Citizen of the Year.

Abby Fortune, Ucluelet’s director of recreation, said more than 4,000 people attended Ukee Days events Saturday and Sunday.

The annual celebration included a barbecue, pancake breakfasts, parade, logger sports, music fest and community activities.
