By David Wiwchar PORT ALBERNI — The Alberni-Clayoquot Regional District is also working on a Regional Wildfire Plan, focusing on time and performance efficiency, working out to the very second how long each step of responding to a fire should take.
The plan, outlined by a team of Vancouver consultants, shows how a contained fire can become out of control in eight minutes and response times need continued improvement.
