TOFINO — Individuals interested in learning about changing the current electoral system can attend a meeting at the Clayoquot Field Station April 22.

The Tofino-Long Beach Chamber of Commerce and the Clayoquot Field Station are hosting an information meeting on the B.C. Single Transferable Vote at 7:30 p.m.

Currently, B.C. elections are run on a first-past-the-post system.

Voters pick one candidate among many.
Under the B.C.-STV, voters would have the opportunity of ranking candidates.
Similar meetings will also take place in Port Alberni.

Myron Jesperson, of the BC-STV campaign, will speak about the Citizens Assembly and the B.C. Single-Transfer Vote inside the North Island College Cafeteria at 7 p.m. April 23 and at 1 p.m. April 24.

For more information on the B.C.-STV, visit http://www.bc-stv.ca
