UCLUELET — A Courtenay man and a Port Alberni woman took first place in the men’s and women’s divisions of the 2010 Edge to Edge Marathon Sunday. But Tofino’s own Jim Gardiner wasn’t too far behind, sneaking in a fourth-place finish overall....
Peter Devries took first place in the men’s pro division of the 2010 Rip Curl Stew surfing competition at Cox Bay Sunday. He walked away with $5,000 and a guaranteed spot into this year’s O’Neill Cold Water Classic in Tofino. Devries has won the Stew three years in a row now. Placing second in the men’s division was Sepp Bruhwiler. Raph Bruhwiler placed third and Ben Murphy placed fourth....

Finally, a movie to write home about.
This was a juicy.
While Lucky Number Slevin probably won’t garner any statuettes in the 2006 awards love fest, it is a fun romp, adequately acted and morbidly hilarious....
